The research platform CREATE-1 will help support ongoing research and encourage new scientific collaborations in the field of type 1 diabetes.
More specifically, the scientific objective of the biobank is to promote clinical, translational and fundamental research on type 1 diabetes in order to 1) reduce the burden of hypoglycemia, optimize the utilization of new therapies and technology, 3) promote de development of precision medicine and 4) prevent/reduce the risk of health complications associated to type 1 diabetes.
Services offered
Prospective cohort of more than 300 adults living with type 1 diabetes.
The CREATE-1 Biobank is composed of biological material and associated clinical data.
The biological material in the biobank consists of:
-Plasma
-Serum
-Buffy coat
-Whole blood
The biobank data consists of multiple categories: clinical data, anthropometric data, continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) data, questionnaires, nutritional data, data on physical activity and handgrip measurements.
